Love > distance

My Finnish girl was ill this weekend. And at these moments, you realize how helpless you feel living so far away from eachother. Usually, I can deal with the distance quite well. WhatsApp, Facetime, Spotify, Pinterest and Facebook are such good ways to share things. But knowing that the one you love so much doesn't feel well, and there is no-one to take care of her, is hard.
On the other hand, it's only nine nights (and one 'lonely' weekend) to go before we can hold each other again and be together for a few days. Not so long anymore!

Frogs

Crazy little world calledspeedskating’. A lot of people in our country grew up with it, others are just introduced to the Dutch skating-madness. In a weekend when Sinterklaas arrives, its quite special to be in the Netherlands as a foreigner. Imagine:

Last weekend

Wow! This weekend together was amazing. First of all, when we talked the weekend over before she went through customs at the airport on the way back to Finland, we realized the 'dating' stage of our relationship turned more into a 'building a life together' stage. Last night after I brought her away and I went back home by train, I texted with my mum the following conversation:

He comes, he comes!

In about 48 hours we (finally) meet again. It's been about a month since we met last time. We try to see each other once a month. But after this weekend, it takes only two-and-a-half weeks until the next visit of my Finnish girl to The Netherlands. She is coming when Sinterklaas is being celebrated. Sinterklaas is a specific Dutch kind of christmas.

Language

My Finnish language course arrived yesterday. I ordered an 'easy' computer course to learn my first Finnish words and things. Excited! So yesterday evening I tried the first lessons. Learned some words, but I realized that I needed more 'support'.
