Lovesong written by my dad

I am a singer-songwriter. The girl with the guitar. My Finnish girl loves it when I sing her a song. Usually, when I try to 'build' a new song, my dad writes the lyrics (I think he's pretty good at it) and I convert the lyrics to fit the melody. Yesterday, my dad sent me an e-mail. He wrote new lyrics for a song.

Of course she is a girl

Today I had a very nice brunch with my friends. It was great to see these friends after a long time. Of course they wanted to hear everything about my Dutch girl. They were very happy for me and us. They said that I glow because I am so happy! After brunch we went to an interior design shop. There was a nice poster, which presented a map of The Netherlands. I decided to buy the poster to hang it on my wall. The salesman asked if I have some connection to The Netherlands. I told that my partner lives there.

I had a date

Yeah! I had a date today with my dear, sweet and beautiful girlfriend. Although she is at home in Finland and I am in my house in The Netherlands, we have a dinner date. So once in a while we plan to have a dinner together. It's really nice to have some food together and talk a little  using Facetime!
Some other nice news: The Dutch government is changing the law for lesbian couples who have (or want to have) a baby together! Before, the not-biological-mum had to adopt her own child. Now, (if the couple is married) this is not needed anymore, she can just register the kid as her own when it is born! Equality for heterosexual and lesbian couples!

Time

Few days passed after she got back to Finland. First days were tough. I'm not the person to get emotional (never been that person, so far), but yeah, I had my moments last days.

Life 2.0

Wow. This week was awesome! Our first whole week together came to an end. I brought my Finnish girl to the Amsterdam airport this evening. We tried to keep smiling, but it were some tough moments when we kissed goodbye. Just as last time, we waved and blew kisses to eachother until she went through security control and we couldn't see eachother anymore. 26 nights of sleep left to our next meeting. The countdown has started again.

I'm not a tourist

Before this 'adventure´, The Netherlands was only Amsterdam for me and I think that it will be for you too. Amsterdam is a very nice city. It is versatile, beautiful and open-minded. Amsterdam is the best city to do some shopping and enjoy a nice relaxed weekend holiday. But The Netherlands is more then Amsterdam only.

Here we are, right now

We're almost halfway October right now. The Finnish girl and I have met almost three months ago and so far it has been amazing. Before this thing, we both already knew we were lesbians. We both were not searching or looking for a relationship or anything, but we literally ran into eachother and knew this was it. After the first days we met, we felt there was something we knew we had to explore. So after I went home to The Netherlands, she bought flight tickets to my country.

The start

A little happy miracle happened this summer. Two girls were in the same place on the same time at the end of July. Two girls, enjoying holidays, total strangers at that time... But times changed. One of the girls was so brave to ask if she could kiss the other girl, just in front of Central Station. Some tiny spark lighted a true fire, and since then, they know they are meant to be together. It was love on first sight!
Only thing is, they are separated by 1800 kilometers. One lives in Finland, the other in The Netherlands. This blog is about their stories and how they deal with the distance they have in between. And of course, their experience being girls who love girls!
